I forgot to say last week there won't be a proper post this evening due to half-term. To all of those who also celebrate - congratulations, you made it through.
Ours has been London-based. Highlights include the drawing bar at The Tate Modern (you can now get artwork printed onto a T-shirt or tote bag - cute), bowling at Rowans in Finsbury Park, the British Museum (mainly the gift shop and loos) and lunch in Borough Market. The latter was a punchy move with a buggy on account of the tremendous crowds, BUT the salt beef and mustard sandwich was extraordinarily good.
On Tuesday my husband and I had a ‘date morning’ (for when the traditional ‘date night’ is too tricky due to lack of babysitter/neither of you being able to stay awake past 9pm) and went for breakfast at The Wolseley - in my opinion the best scrambled eggs in town. A whole hour to do nothing but drink a pot of coffee and stare at other people. Bliss.
(Side bar: despite the fancy surroundings, The Wolseley is actually a very child-welcoming place - as is sister restaurant The Delaunay - and fun for croissants/ice cream if you're ever that way and fancy something a bit posh.)
Before retaking ownership of the kids, I had time to nip into Liberty and buy the Lisa Eldridge brown mascara I mentioned the other week. A triumph! Much softer than black but still gives enough definition. And during a liberated jaunt down Regent Street I spotted:
This super chic and massive woven tote for stashing all your summer-mum things in…
The easiest and breeziest chuck-on linen dress …
And a great pair of everyday sandals to wear with your jeans/denim shorts.
Ok! That's all for now - normal service will resume next week.
You're doing great, Frankie x

I've just booked our family summer holiday - a caravanning week in Cornwall in July. Long time readers will recall we did the same thing last summer… and the summer before that. The thought of repeating a holiday destination - certainly one that doesn't involve a turquoise pool and cocktails - would have once horrified me. But as I've discovered when ho…
